Wechsler Memory Scale®—Third Edition—Abbreviated

Wechsler Memory Scale®—Third Edition—Abbreviated (WMS–III—Abbreviated) is a fast reliable, survey of auditory and visual memory abilities. Derived from its predecessor the Wechsler Memory Scale®—Third Edition (WMS®–III). The WMS®–III—Abbreviated was designed to provide an estimate of general memory functioning when extended memory testing is not appropriate.

The test assesses adult memory abilities comprehensively and reliably. It is sensitive to memory impairments associated with dementia, neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions. The WMS®–III —Abbreviated was designed to enable clinicians to monitor changes in memory performance through statistical analysis of serial assessments.

Features and Benefits:

  • Individually administered.
  • Subtests measure auditory and visual immediate and delayed memory.
  • Provides statistics for comparing Memory with WAIS–III IQ.
  • Yields scores for Immediate Memory, Delayed Memory and Total Memory.
  • Administered in 20-25 minutes by trained psychologist.
  • Appropriate for use with examinees ages 16 to 89 years.
